Loc Lab Live is a three part event within the 2023
Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival that will highlight and celebrate Black haircare and beauty.

A curated educational experience, Loc Lab Live at Juneteenth will help hair stylists and beauty professionals build or expand their existing beauty businesses while simultaneously celebrating with
the community. Loc Lab Live Juneteenth will include:

  • Clubhouse for Training Class + Professional Panel
  • A Beauty Lab Installation 
  • A Live Performance By A Natural Hair Focused Artist

About Dr. Kari

Dr. Kari Williams PhD is a Certified Trichologist, Licensed Barber, Cosmetologist, member of the Local 706 Hair & Makeup Union for Film and Television, celebrity stylist, and inventor of the widely successful Goddess Locs hairstyle. Dr. Kari has over 18 years of experience as a natural hair care specialist, educator, and hair product consultant. Dr. Kari has trained over 300 stylists around the world as trichologists and/or certified natural hair stylist. Dr. Kari has developed consumer education for Shea Moisture, DevaCurl, Eden Bodyworks and more. Dr. Kari also serves as a hair care expert with various media outlets including: PopSugar, Essence, Oprah Daily, InStyle, Sweet July Magazine to name a few.

Dr. Kari was appointed by Governor Brown to serve on the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology for 8 years helping to shape legislation for the beauty industry in California.
